GOLDEN GARDENS
During the mild days of late March and April is when our perennial gardens burst into colour with thousands of colourful autumn blooms. A real feature this year is our new hanging basket display with over 180 massive baskets full of flowering Begonias and Petunias, the walk stretches 500m along Cochrane’s Lake. There is still lotus and waterlily flowers to see, however not as prolific as during summer. Some of the best floral displays in April include our greenhouse exhibits of native lotus and waterlilies from Northern Australia, the 300m waterlily walk that features dozens of ponds containing a large array of beautiful and rare varieties. Also our extraordinary Giant Amazon waterlilies with huge lily pads over 1.3m in diameter. The gardens contain fantastic picnic & bbq facilities, Three Sugars Café & Ice Cream Shop, plenty of playgrounds, free scavenger hunt for kids, giant chess and more.
